2D & 3D Character Design
The Nuba Project
For a year, I was part of a small team creating an original fantasy game inspired by cultures around the world. As a 2D and 3D character designer, my responsibility was to create a unique and compelling character that many potential players could connect with and grow to love. In addition to the main character, Nuba, I developed concepts for guards and NPCs. Working closely with the art director, we brought life to these characters by developing their personalities and backgrounds during their design process.
I learnt so many new skills and software throughout this project. I've had to do a lot of style experimentation to capture the art director's vision, which was a fun challenge. My favourite part of this project was developing the culture and how to reflect that through clothing and accessories. The most challenging but rewarding part was transforming Nuba and the Beast into 3D models and seeing them come to life.
